Draft Integrated Network Map Consultation

Draft Integrated Network Map Consultation

Why are we doing this?:

Wrexham County Borough Council (along with all other Welsh Local Authorities) is required under the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013 to produce an Integrated Network Map setting out a 15 year programme of improvements. The public consultation is to inform the development of the Integrated Network Map will be undertaken during 2018. The feedback received from the consultation will be used to help inform the development of the Integrated Network Maps.

What do we want to know?:

Wrexham County Borough Council is calling on residents take part in a consultation to give their views and suggestions for improving active travel routes within the County Borough.

Active travel means walking and cycling for every day journeys. This includes journeys to school, work, shops or to access services, for example health centres or leisure centres. Active travel does not include walking and cycling for recreational purposes.

This may be a route that you currently use for walking and cycling that could be improved to encourage greater levels of active travel or alternatively, a route which is currently missing, that, if provided would help to encourage more people to participate in active travel for every day journeys.

Your suggestions will be considered and will provide important information in development of the Integrated Network Map, a walking and cycling plan for the County Borough which will be submitted to the Welsh Government in August 2018.
