Respite and Short Term Breaks

Respite and Short Term Breaks

Why are we doing this?:

Respite care and short term breaks form part of the overall support available for families and carers and can be offered in a variety of ways, whether it’s for a few hours, week, month or occasionally to help sustain caring relationships and prevent crisis.

For the purposes of this survey we will use the term respite care to mean any services or practical support that enable carers to have a break away from caring and provide the individual with a learning disability or complex needs with a break.

We use the term carer to mean someone whose caring role is unpaid – generally they are caring for a relative or a friend, such carers are also known as informal carers

Your answers to this survey will help us plan how we will meet the needs of people with a learning disability and their families across Wrexham, Flintshire, Conwy and Denbighshire.  Please complete this survey to help us improve the range of respite options available

What do we want to know?:

We have written this survey to help us build a picture of the experiences of people accessing and receiving respite care and short term breaks and carers, which will help us to improve respite care and short term breaks across the region.
